DIY headlight inserts

Made these up in about 1 hour, got the mesh from the tip and had an old can of silver spray floatin around. Next I might try a dif colour and fit red leds behind.

good idea! its probably way cheaper than the other ones that are brand name! those ones or like $45! pluss shiping! i mean it aint that much but thats a way to save money! good idea! thanks i am going to do that to mine to!

Looks good! Red would definitely be cool - especially if you had a red LED or something behind it for night!

go 20 Red LEDs comming so they will go behinf the inserts and strategically placed around the engine bay.

i got mine at the local welding shop.thats the cheap way. i've also seen it at the hardware store also. ACE or LOWE's.

The mesh is actually from the tip. I work in the mines and the mesh is from old discarded haul truck air filters, the filter is wrapped in this stuff, theres tons of itf everywhere and totally free.

First I removed the stock headlight clear covers as there where all busted up and diddnt fit under my DIY inserts. Then removed the bulb and fitting.
Then cut using a hole saw 2 x round peices of 3mm aluminium ( road sign ) to snuggly fit into where thr buld fitting was, I fitted this from the front.
Then drilled 8 x 5mm holes around the discs and siliconed the lights in and the disk into the light cover. I wired them up to the existing headlight cables, they only work on low beam. Easy and cheap.
