86,87,88,89 250r collection

I have collected a complete set of Honda 250r's over the past few years. I have decided that I may sell them all as a set or keep the 89 and sell the rest individually. Is there any interest out there for the collection?

These bikes are all in stock unrestored condition and the 86 and 88 have clear titles. The 86, 88, and 89 are in VERY good condition with low hours. The 87 has a bit more wear and the plastic has crack. They all have complete tool kits, owner's manuals (except the 87), and stock grips, decals, etc. They all have light wear under the a-arms and boot rubs on frame. I am (was) a collector and am proud to own this set, but need to free up cash for house/real estate project.

Cost will go something like this:
86-$4000
87-$3500
88-$5500
89-$6000

Total for set = $19K

I have additional items for anyone interested in the complete set such as OEM setup manuals for the 87 and 88, Honda color flyer for the 89, OEM white 89 headlight cover, Factory 86-87 front racing bumper...

I almost forgot...I'm located in Ohio and also selling a 2004 Road King Custom 1550

I always wanted a collection like that but like you said need to free up the cash. And if they were show bikes that would be a lot of cash tied up in trophies.

I started doing that, then was afraid to ride them.
I had a stock original 86,88,89 and sold them to buy ones that I could ride so now I'm in the slow process of building my dream "riding" 250R. One that I won't be afraid to ride.

Bananas - Sorry, I don't have a trailer big enough for all of them, only two at a time.

250Renvy - I am the same as you...I don't want to ride them either! I could see taking one out on a holiday weekend to show it off, but if you drove them regularly, you would definately lose money on your investment. Especially the 88 and 89.

how does one consider getting rid of such a fantastic collection?

now if it came down to getting rid of my R or my wife, i'd probably get rid of the R...

but if it came down to getting rid of 4 Rs or my wife, my wife is probably gunna pack her bags...:devil:

lol- now i know nobody said anything about wives, i'm just saying that my R is always gunna be about the last thing to, especially if i had 4 Rs...

Is that 89 missing the heel guards? In order to get 6K you'd have to have those.

Yes I have the heel guards, the pics were taken in the fall and I have put them back on since then.

is there a difference between the 88, 89 shocks to the 86, 87 shocks?? its cool how much better then 89 looks compared to the 86...makes you wonder how good the R would have been if it was produced all the way through the 90s...says alot when its a legend and it was only produced for 4 years!
