This is the first time I've installed a twin row bearing carrier on my 400EX. Now it would seem my stock rear brake hub doesn't have enough room on the axle to be reinstalled:grr: I didn't see this coming, so is this always the case? Do I have to get a fancy anti-fade hub now? If so, what kind is good and cheap? Thanks for any help...

double check that you have the axle fully seated in the carrier

Make sure the axle is ALL the way in. I had to use a hammer and block of wood to get it in. The stock lock nut will fit but I recommend a pinch bolt type lock nut. C&D Racing sells the Rad version for a very reasonable price.

The stock nut has a reputation for coming loose easily after initial removal but i've heard wrapping it with electrical tape works great.
