I decided to keep it and race some more.

I'm running the whole AWRCS series and a couple GNCC's

I don't mind missing the GNCC's at $3.00 a gallon. I'm having a blast racing the AWRCS series and 8 of the races are within 2 hours of my house.

The tracks are awesome, very technical and well run. The series is a class act and a great alternative to the Nationals.

I'd build a 300EX for him if I were you. Have Laz do a 350 engine and buy some JB +2 +1 a-arms with his shock relocator for 400ex shocks. 4+1 rims and a steering dampener put Elka's all around it and he'd love it. I run my own bracket and my a-arms are similar to the JB stuff.

amen on the $3 a gallon.

cody turns 13 on the 10th...at which time he can start running 200cc-300cc production at locals and ive been tossing the idea around. He needs alot of practice running a bigger quad, but FINALLY i could have him on a full size quad that doesnt need my attention after a race or during:chinese:

OK Countypark...I will be picking your brain seeing your the only one around here that seems to have a clue:p

I ordered the JB relocator and Elka is awaiting my specs for all 3 shocks. I have 4-1 hipers and based on your advice will run the +2+1 400ex arms, although I have not settled fully on a brand.

I'd go with JB 300EX +2 +1 a-arms

Do not use 400EX a-arms they will not work right. The ball joint location is wrong and they really increases bump steer.

Leaving the swingarm stock will make the front end light which is ok for a stock engine but you will want to extend it at least 1 inch if you build the engine. Stock with a pipe and air cleaner will be ok for your son until he grows into it then build a 330 or 350.

Once you get your a-arms you need to install them and remove the shocks to get the dimensions for ELKA. They will build shocks per your measurements and your sons weight.

Not doubting you, but the calls I made today all seemded to point me in the 400ex arm with relocator bracket.

I know you have enough time on that 300 to know what works well, im just wondering why the differing opinions.

The aftermarket 400EX a-arms from JB will probabbly work fine. Scott Sleppy has his 250X set-up with 400EX JB a-arms and he really likes them.

I would strongly recommend that you don't use stock 400EX a-arms.

The aftermarket arms are usually caster and camber adjustable which will give you the ability to set your upper ball joint properly.

One problem that I noticed with 400EX a-arms both stock and aftermarket is that the tierod ends can hit the a-arms under full turning and potentially wedge into the a-arm and lock up. It takes muscle to un lock them, something your little guy might not be able to do.

If you go to Sparta take a look at Travis Bells Orange 300EX. He has all of the JB stuff and Elkas and his Dad says he loves it.

If you get +2 +1 400ex a arms. Wont that be a +4 front end? (on each side) Are you sure you want to make it that wide for the trails?
