Hey I do not know what shaving the head is... What happens when you shave the head??? Like what power gains are involved, what does the mechanic do to your motor, where I can get it done, how much it would cost, and does it raise compression???

it can raise the compression if it is shaved enough. most common reason for "milling" the head is to remove uneven spots for a better head to gasket seal.

how often does a person get there head "shaved" or "milled"??? And is it a great enough increase in power to bother doing???

with the piston kits...milling the head isnt as popular as it used to be. when milling the head you have to be careful with piston to valve clearence. mill too much and the valve will give ur piston a love tap!! aftermarket pistons are normally relieved for the valves and there is usually enough clearence as not to cause a problem. if i remember correctly...20 thousands will raise compression around a point...
