I was thinking about building a 400ex hybrid with a yz400f or a yz426f engine and lonestar +3 a-arms, lonestar +1.25 swingarm, lonestar extended axle, front elka shocks and elka rear shocks with elka linkage, fully gusseted frame. And was wanting to know if it would keep up with a new stock LTR450 on a mx track?

i would go with the LTR. my friend just got one and that thing rips. the ltr is deff. race ready except nerfs and a kill switch. its already like 49" wide to and good shocks and comfertible feal. 400ex's are great but if your going to race they dont compair.

I'm sure you could keep up with a new 450 if you have a yz426 hybrid with all aftermarket suspension.

Dont waste your time or money get the 450.Any 450 at that !!!A TRX with a couple suspension and a arm and axles upgrades would be sweet!!!

Get the hybrid. It'll be a nonstock bike that will rip. I'd have much more satisfaction knowing I built the bike rather than bought it.

That is not a new 450R, that is a 450R engine in a 400EX frame.
