im having problems with my r and i dont know where to even start. it starts fine, but it runs like its cold. you know like when you just start it up and it takes it a while to hit the powerband. well after riding it for a while it still wont hit the powerband. any ideas?

You probably need a new top end. Make sure you let it warm up first before you hammer on it. If you were riding it hard enough while it was cold to tell it wasn't warmed up enough to "hit the power band" then you probably wore out the top end real quick. Just buy a compression tester at an auto parts store and check what compression the r has. Then, if it's under spec, just buy a new top end and go from there. It's not much more than like 120-130 plus shipping for a piston kit and gaskets.

what should my compression be?

Don't quote me on this, but im thinking it's supposed to be in the 160-180 psi range. If those numbers are wrong, somebody correct me.
