Does anybody know the top speed of a stock 400EX? Mines stock and my friend told me that it's lucky if it will do 55mph. I think he's full of garbage. I was guessing that it will do between 60 & 65. What do you guys have to say?

It will be around 65-69.... Depends about the surface, and a lot of things.

that should be for the 04s and bakc since they had 14 tooth front sprockets. 05's and newer should do around 62-67 or around there. def. faster than 55 lol. any 400ex should do at least 60-65

The 05 and 06's are the ones with 14 tooth front... There about the same top speed as the 99-04' (Which have a 15 front) because they changed the internal gearing in it.... But it will def. do over 55.

'05s and '06s are exactly the same except for the black plastics. Mines brand new also. I bought it a month ago as a leftover. Thanks. I thought it went faster than 55.

Yeah I would think stock you could pull 60-65mph.

I see people comment a lot about the differences in gearing between the 99-04 and the 05,06's....I have an 05 and my friend has an 04 and they are really close to the same top speed, his is slightly faster. Probably 1-2 mph.

Just my experiences.

wut do u think a 2000 400ex would do with a 416 kit and exhaust and little more?

probably 68-70 from what i know the 416 doesnt add much more speed.. just quite a bit more torque

My friend has a 99 400 and I clocked him at 67MPH.

I have a 416EX with HMF Pipe, and It will beat a Stock Z400. Not sure about the speed. I think a Piped Z400 Would beat it.
