JE is a good brand of piston, I recommend them over wiseco because there comp ratios are right without decking any heads or cylinders. With a wiseco you cant just drop in a 13:1 and actually be 13:1 like a JE, you gotta do some mill work. Put a 13:1 Je piston in it, hrc or hotcams whatever cam you want, get a good foam air filter rejet the carb and you will notice big gains, if you have an exhaust already especially. You may be wanting more than this, if so ask around some shops for some high velocity head porting, dont screw with port and polish and someone dremeling out the head, thats not where its at. The 06 should be better for motor work considering the early 04's had crank bearing failures.

black widow has a 14:1 if im correct and is suppose to be a top quality one, they have alot of info on trx450r.org. alot of people have put them in there quads, and a couple in there 06 as well.

I've build 450Rs

DRG porting is all about high velocity porting

:macho

here is a picture of a stock 06 450R port with NO PORTING
