i have a a 04' 400ex and i was goin to ride the other day and it started fine i rode it all morning and then i went to ride it that evening and nothing worked my electric start does not work my lights nothing works so i rolled it off droped the clutch and started it that way and then everything decides to work my lights start working elec. start, etc

i finally went to see if it was my battery i tryed to jump it off nothing happend then i just hooked the cables up to it to see if it still had juice and it seems to.

what could be causin this to happen maybe a short ,starter,battery,etc

anyone have any ideas maybe a bad fuse need help real fast!

If any of the lights work, including the neutral light, the fuse is fine. There is a spare fuse behind the 'in use' fuse. Unless it has be removed.

If the fuse is good make sure the connections at the relay and battery are clean and tight.

the lights work but only after i drop the clutch and start it that way but when the key is turned on nothin works

Check the fuse first....

i checked the fuse and its still good but a friend of mine told me to put a screwdriver in between the solenoid and start it that way and it worked so does it mean the solenoid it good or bad?
