i bought a 1980 something LT80, doesnt run right now but i found the starter relay is bad so im getting a new one for it. i was wondering what i can do to this for free to get it faster. i looked around for the clutch mod but still confused on how to do it and i read the offroad.com article thing. also the air filter, do i just need a filter on the carb or does that lower thing need to have a filter to, the lower tube out of the case is just a crank breather right? Thanks in advance

I read the offroad.com thing a while back. I consider it flawed.
Removing 2 of the front clutch rollers will increase the stall speed slightly.
Shaving the head .030m will bump up the compression.
Gearing up will increase speed.

The only filter I know of is the air filter. :)

i know its the air filter, but the stock air box has a tube running down to the left case

That tube is the air supply to the clutchs. No filter ness.

If he has all the stock air box on, he won't need that.

"do i just need a filter on the carb or does that lower thing need to have a filter to, the lower tube out of the case is just a crank breather right?"

He should only need the carb air filter.

The other is where the air is sucked thru the clutchs.:)
