So there i was, polishing the ol' Alien and decided to pull it apart and check the inside. Long story short. Can anyone give me pointers on how to repack the silencer with new fiberglass. Does it need to be really tight? Or.........?

but you want it "tight",not "smashed". Try to imagine how the exhaust gases flow out the exhaust and try to get a feel for it.

Generally, although barely noticeable, a tighter packing gives more top end, and a louder tone, and a looser packing gives more low end and a softer exhaust tone. I just packed mine nice and tight because I didn't want to have to repack it in another month. When I was done, it was a lot quieter than before, and revved out a little, tiny bit faster. That is probably mostly because there was no packing left in the muffler beforehand, and there was a lot of turbulent airflow.
