450 shocks fit 400?

I got the bright idea to get a pair of stock 450ex front shocks for my 400ex. Will the 450 shocks fit and or work well on my 400ex?

I'm trying to be frugal.

Yes, if you do a search you'll find much info on this subject. Stay with the '04-'05 unless your going to have them re-valved/sprung.

how long are 450r shocks, between the bolt holes?
