aight i need some help here fast. the bearing started to go out on my 400 so i got some new ones. well i got the axle out and i cant get the bearing out. if i just hit on one bearing...will the spacer and the other bearing come out? ive been hittin on it for 30min and i dont think its even moved. theres got to be an easier way. am i going to have to heat it up w/ a torch? its really startin to piss me off to where im just gonna take it somewhere. what should i do? i need to get them out in the morning if possible

I baked mine in the oven at 350 for 10 minutes and they shook out, then stick the bearings in the freezer for 1/2 hr, reheat the carrier and you should be able to press them in....

You can't hit everything out from one side. the bearings go in from each side up against ridges with the spacer in the middle. You have to somehow get between the bearing and the spacer and hit it away from the carrier.

does it go all the way against the caliper mount? or close the clip?

I think the "cap" end goes against the caliper mount. Then you thread it on there, put the C Clip on, and tighten it against the C Clip ( there is a groove on the axle for the clip).....I have not done it in a couple of months but I think that is right.
