View Full Version : Should I buy a Cannondale Cannible?

08-07-2002, 11:18 PM
Ive got a 01 400ex with laeger 2+2 arms, lonestar +4 axle, billet douglas wheels, works tripple rate front shocks. 18 in turf tamers, 19 in holeshots lonestar swing arm, white bros silencer stock motor with white bros rev limiter and k&n filter. Maiers with race plastic and graves seat cover, tag bars. This bike looks really sharp, but for motocross racing would I be better off with a cannible with shocks, 2+2 arms, and +4 axle? Ive got alot of money in the ex, but it has a stock frame, and im getting beat down the straights. (long straights). help,,, this is a tough decision.
Thanks guys,
Brent

do what you want:D

jk well a cannondale is faster...but you are going to have a LOT more maintainance
but you could have a little more fun

Again with the maintance, You change the oil in both machines this one you change the tranny fluid in like a 250R. What's the big deal. I had a 400 got rid of it for the Speed. There is a SMALL time deferance in the maintance of one over the other that is all. Those long straights will go by alot quicker soon.

your gonna take a pretty big loss when you sell your 400ex for your cannible but I think you would be better off spending that money your gonna lose on your 400ex. But to each his own I guess, I think the 400ex is about the best mx quad you can buy currently mod vs mod and stock vs stock belongs to cannondale.

I agree with what nausty said, you cant get much better then a modded 400ex....but a dale might suite you better.....

Your problem can be overcome. Get either a 416, 425, or a 440 kit complete with new cam. Try that before u take a loss and sell it.

as a cannibal owner i say go with knighttime. a 440ex will have more midrange than a cannondale, and that is what counts on the mx track.

Well, I have a MX race ready Cannibal with every after market trick on it. I'll consider your EX as part trade. When we had a 440 stroker motor in our EX, the c-dale STILL beat it. Once we put the YZF in, it would beat the c-dale. We are now building a 450. Thats why the c-dale is going.

Some dealers charge some don't you can also get the software to do it for $300. Even if you mod out a 400EX, you still won't have the trottle respones, water cooling, and a few other + that come on the Cannons. That's why I got rid of my 400 and bought the Cannon.

I don't think u can beat a C-dale. I totally disagree the the 400ex is the best quad for mx mod vs. mod. The Z400 has more power and more to gain, The frames r close in geometry so the handling is the same. I think u can get can better than a modded 400ex, if they're so good then why r'nt any pros using them? This isn't a flame vs. the EX but just showing some points.

The only thing better than a modded 400ex is a modded cannondale, or a modded R, or something

Modded 400ex's dont even hang with c-dale's, get hte c-dale and do it right! imo c-dale's are the best made

cannibal will beat any stock quad out there, ive seen one beat a 250r with lrd motor mods and a banshee with pipes and a port job bigger carbs and boost bottle and all the cannibal has is a hmf pipe
