My little 06 with hrc was running like a champ today, I found the smoothest line at the drag strip and put a spanking on the crowd.
yfz450 lost by 8+ lengths everytime
660 raptor by 10 or more (hard to judge that far back)
ds650 by 6 to 7 lengths
440ex with alot of mods by 4
700vforce by 6 to 7 lengths
this was all on a drag strip about 300'-325' long.
the funny thing was the whole group that was drag racing knew which one of their guys was the fastest but they raced me one at a time until I got to the ds650 (which they thought was the fastest)
I even told them which one of them was the best rider and had him get on the yfz and he started spanking his buddies on his other friends quad.
the owner of the yfz really wasnt doing it justice,
after the owner of the 440ex got on the yfz he was only
3 or 4 lengths behind.
the poor guy on the 660 rappy lost to my son who was on a
1999 cr80 piped/jetted/filter (he is 12 and pretty small for his age)
All the guys where super cool and talked over cold drinks,
just thought I would share my day

I was just up at Silver lake this past weekend.

My 06' 450R was putting a hurt on pretty much everybike there, except for the turbo raptor, or the gsx-r powered quad, and the yfz with an aftermarket cylinder, and a banshee that was set up for drags.

The new LTR's are very close though.

It was fun.

dont tell me the new 450 is close... its a tough choice between the ltr and 450r

im not a dyno but the ltr's I have drag raced and seen run vs other 450's seem to lack a little, not alot (im not bashing the ltr)
if I was going to race mx and leave it stock I would get the ltr,
but I just play, dunes, trails, jumps, hill climbs etc.
thats why I got the 450r.........it does it all great not just mx.

thats what they keep telling me. lol
all I have is hrc and pro design filter (I want a dr.d slip on)
to quote the hillbilly on the utility that was starting us,
"that thar thing is fastern gureeesed lightnin, you'uns just a playin wit them otherins."

I dont mean to poke fun at him too much, he was a good ol boy.
(he started drag races for over 45 min. for us.)

I was at Pismo on the 20th and my 06 did really well too. My bike has a Sparks BC exhaust and thats about it. I spanked an 05 450r, and beat everyone off the line. There was no real drag race because about 50 ft down the strip it was all rutted out really bad. I would beat everyone to the ruts then you would only win if you chose a good line(least amount of ruts) RIS was there to smooth it out but for only a little. I am very impressed with the 06 and especially with the pipe.

tooanxiousii, how do you like the boyesen quickshot ?
with my hrc kit I dont have the bog some speak of but I have read that the quickshot makes it feel like its got alot more holeshot.
Im torn between it and the 55 leak jet.
one is cheaper but which works best ?
Im leaning towards a slip on to put on the hrc header pipe,
from my searching the Dr.d is my choice.

It works great ... I would get the Yoshi slip on I have heard they are the best for the 06

is the yoshi rs7 a top,mid or bottom end pipe ? and how much did you give for yours, if I may ask.
the dr.d is like $225 for slip on. on e bay.
I do like the looks of the yoshi the best but the one I looked at was pricey.

Yoshimura has come a loooong ways. Check out some of these dyno runs on the Yoshimura TRC 450r at: www.wppracing.com It made me sell my Dr.D to buy it. But, I do have a modded engine, and it needed a bigger header, so that the ONLY reason I sold the Dr.D. Otherwise, it's hard to beat the Dr. on the 04-05's. The 06's are different. The Yosh slip-on works AWESOME with the HRC kit!!
