my quad is leaking oil where the vavle cover is. I am thinking it could be that the valve cover isnt on good or the gasket is bad. Could this be anything else??. and has anyone ever had this happen to then and what did they do.

I heard that sometimes if you have to much oil then some of it goes through the breather tube and comes out on top of the motor. I dont think this could be my problem because i did an oil change and put 2 quart of oil in it. I noticed it the first time i took it out after that. Then 3 rides later i checked my oil and it was low again so i put some in like up to the 3/4's mark. i know there isnt a 3/4's mark but it was around that area. Then i rode around for like 20 mins and i noticed it was leaking again. So i checked my oil level and it was up to the full line. I dont get it so please any help would be great. I dont want to keep always adding in oil. Its either coming from the gasket or the alen wrench bolts that hold the cover on. Not sure which one.

have u done any engine work recentley or taken oil lines off, caus eit could just be from a loose bolt or stipped bolt.. but too much oil it will leak out...

no i havent dont any motor work at all. It doesnt leak that much but i would rather it not leak at all. to me it either seems likes its coming from the allen wrench bolts or the gaskets. and its only coming out on one side. Its the side with the fuel turn off and res. valve.

thats where i thought mine was coming from but i have opened up my motor a few times and replaced the valve cover. its probs cause it was overfilled. make sure all the bolts are tight aswell.

does anyone think that the oil iam using could be doing it also. Its Amsoil full syn 0w-40. the guy who i bought it from was running the honda GN4 10w-40 oil and he said it didnt leak oil or anything. And before i did my oil change it didnt leak.(At least anything that i noticed). He could of screwed me over also but do you think that could be the possiblity thats what the problem is.???

i dont think thats your prob but why are you running 0w oil in it. is there anything between cover and gasket. dirt and s*** wouldnt let it seat right. Retorq your bolts maybe they stretched

amsoil has a oil thats 0w-40. It replaces 5w-30. 10w-40 and some others. They recomend it for fourwheelers and its safe for clutchs.
