05 vs. 06

Does anyone know how much faster the 06 450r is than the 05 450r? Did they do major engine changes to the 06?

There are many threads on this. Yes, the 06 is much faster than the 05, but you also have to take into consideration that all bikes run differently. My bone stock and uncorked 06 was extremely close in a drag all the way through to my piped and cammed 05. When I say close, I mean almost right on side of it. Now my 06 has the HRC kit and it destroys my 05. It accelerates WAY harder and has the same- if not more top end. I would say both are doing either very close to or possibly even slightly over 80MPH.

As far as differences, the entire bike for the most part has been redesigned and the engine is completely different inside and out... even though they look quite similar. That said, the 06 has a far more potent engine IMO. :macho

check out the info website of honda it will tell you in detail all the improvements (quite a few, some small some big)
alot of dealers are trying to sell the 05's pretty cheap because the 06 with all the goodies are makeing the 05's a little harder to sell.
