I was riding my quad the other day and when I got on it, it was popping in 3rd gear right when it got into the powerband, so I let off and shifted then it would do it again right when it got into the powerband.
I pulled the spark plug- and it was running rich.
It has a 182 main jet in it so I put in a 152 (the only jet I had) and moved the clip on the needle so it was getting the most fuel it could and it was running way to lean (50 degree day)
So I went and bought a 160, 165, 170, 175, 178
Put in all of them and now I am back at the 182 with the needle all the way down and it is running perfect...(75 degrees today)
Why would it be doing this when it was running rich before and now it is getting more fuel than before and it is running fine with hotter weather?
