How difficult is this do? It is something that needs to be done by a specialty shop... or is it something that can be done locally by a machine shop.. or at home with some special tools?

Is there a critical tolerance or do you just need to make room for the cylinder skirt??

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks

i did mine myself with a air grinder and a aluminum cutting bit. wasn't that hard at all. but for some a machine shop would be a better choice.

I also did mine with a air die grinder and cutting bit. They came out pretty good to. It was time consuming though. I would pay the 50 bucks next time.

Where exactly on the cases is that measurement taken??? Im assuming that that is an inside measurement.

Could anyone post a picture????

i heard thet you dont want to open up past the cylinder that you are going to be running. something about crank volumn. there would be extra air or something in the crank area. hopefully someone will chime in, and give the details. i heard it somewhere back when i was machining out mine.

when i did mine i had to put in longer studs due to my +4mm stroker crank so i put those in first then took and slid the cylindr onto the studs so it was aligned. then took a marker and traced around the the sleve. then started cutting away, once igot it close i took and kept checking until the cylinder slid all the way in there.

only like putting a reed spacer on . bit more bottom end if i'm right . once your machined you can leave your bottom end untouched if good and your ready for whatever bore size you want , i'm gonna be running 265 for a while , i just had mine done ..:D
