Well i was out rejetting my carb for my new pipe, and decided to check the compresson for the hell of it. Well it was 215 psi. The engine was warm so i'm wondering if that could have something to do with it. It has a thin head gasket, and i tihnk the head has been decked. The reason i'm suprised is because i have been running 91 in it with no problems, and so had the previous owner. If the compression is that high, how does it run so well on such a low octane? And for all you engine gurus should i keep running premium or should i run av fuel?

the reason you can run 91 and it dont ping is probably because
your squish is around .05 though the lower the squish the more
compression but at the same time the lower the squish the
the lower the octain you can run. check this site out
www.macdizzy.com go down to more 2 stroke info and then
like 3/4 of the way down that page there should be some
good info on this.
