Kick start 400EX

all right i have been wondering. if the off road XR400 bike has a kick start why cant a 400ex? there must be a way to order all parts needed for a XR400 engine and put it in to the 400ex motor. on the side case were the kicker would be there is a dimpeld spto were it would go so you would need to drill that out and probably line up the gears in side and then you should have a kick start but it does not seem this simple or else honda would have done it allready i think.

if not does an XR400 motor fit right in to a 400ex? is ther any diffrence besides that the XR400 runs a 36mm carb instead of a 38 like a 400EX? i was just thinking about how it would be cool to have a kick start becuase it would come in handy. plus if you race you could get rid of that heavy battery.

you can't just bolt up a kick starter. You could make one up inplace of the e-starter though.

batteries can die. just a nice backup to have if it wasn't such a pita

so if they do then i would rather give a kick than find a hill or push fast.

probably not a problem looking at the big picture, but it would be cool to have (like i said though, only if it was an easy mod)

I wish they came with them when they released to 400ex, but they didnt and its probably not even worth the effort to swap out the electric start. I must admit i have rolled down a few hills with a dead battery.
