Just wondering about setting up the ride height on my quad. I have seen posts where some say it's best to set the quad so the frame is level and some say it should be lower in the rear. I've even seen some say it should be lower up front. Which is right? The book that came with my Elka's doesn't really explain this very well.

I ride trails if that helps any. Thanks for your help.

Lots of threads on this..... One VERY recent.

You want the front to be 1/4" to 1/2" higher than the rear as your starting point. Your just going to have to test it. Some people like it better level.

That's what I thought. I figured it was more rider preference. I guess I'll just have to play around with it some more. What will having front higher do for the handling?? I'm trying to adjust it so the rear will be just a bit loose in turns.

I'm thinking part of my issue is that I have +1 forward a arms and a stock length swingarm.

Interesting read. I may just give that a try. I'm not sure how to figure out what my total suspension travel is though??

Also would they be measuring total shock travel or wheel travel?

Thanks. I understand that method much better now. But why does the elka manual just say to set it at "x" number of inches with rider ?

Would I be better off to follow elka's method or the one in the article?
