I race alot of MX and my thumb always hurts alot of the time a better glove will help, but comfortable atv grips help as well but my thumb almost always hurts after a race

Convert to a twist throttle if you feel comfortable with one.

Twist throttles dont hurt your wrist at all, compared to thumb throttles, they are way better. Get a twist throttle, thumb throttle is dumb and you should definately convert.

Ya twist throttles never bothered me at all... But try lubing your cable and see if that helps, or try making it a little bit looser and not so tight.

Twist throttle all the way. Sometimes they can get you in trouble but if you are racing mx there should be no problem, look how long the bikes have been doing it.

Mine and my brothers both came with twist throttles on them. We both took them off, I just didn't like the feeling of them. Lube your throttle cable with a good clutch cable cleaner. Other than that, I think all you can do is ride more:)

You shouldn't have too much trouble with the thumb throttle if you ride alot, your thumb should be pretty immune to the thumb action, but maybe your cable is worn out/dry, this will fatigue your finger if it's not easy to move. look into it. twist throttles are ok, but again your wrist can get fatigued...

Depending on what bike you are on there are several conversions you can do, like the trx 90 lever or teh 400 assembly on a yfz. Also, gloves tend to bother me a lot. I can ride almost an entire xc race(2 hours) without gloves and get little cramp, but if I ride with gloves I only go about 1 lap before I am pulling them off. Maybe your gloves are affecting you some.
