Well I am tired of the kids at school saying that I have dirty hands....... I use Go-Joe, but it all still doesnt come off. I am going to start wearing latex gloves when I work on my quad but until then, what is everyones secret to get the stuff off?

Tell them your dirty hands is what makes you money. People use to say that till my buddys got jobs as mechanics and such and they finally saw what I was talking about. Grease is a pain in the ***..

I use this stuff called D&L Hand CLeaner.

Its pretty much paint thinner and works great to get the grease off.

Keep using Go Joe, just scrub harder. I lived on a farm so I've been covered with grease, oil, cowchit, etc. I was always able to get 95% of it off with go joe. We used to use a scrub brush with a handle on it also. Don't use gas, paint thinner, etc that's not worth the health risk.

its not that people telling me bothers me, its just that its all of the clean freaks that are all like "ewwww what is that." and it just gets annoying hearing it. I im going to use gojo some more, but it dries the **** out of your hands.

great for the pore's!

i use a few different things. Fast orange here at home, at the cycle shop i use mr. moto crud buster, and at my other job i use industrial hand cleaner.

the crud buster works great, it is a foam with pumice in it and gets 99% of teh grease off my hands. The hand cleaner at home and work work good too, but crud buster works best IMO.

Fast orange, with Pumice has always worked for me.

Just scrub with the Fast Orange, with no water, then rinse.

Here's the trick I've always used. Your hands will come out cleaner than when you started.

Buy a can of GOOP, and some Fast Orange w/ pumice.

BEFORE you start working, take a small amount of GOOP and rub it into your hands. It won't let the oil/grease/grime stain your pores, and will be much much easier to clean up afterwards.

Once your done, reclean with some goop, and wipe your hands off with a shop towel. Next head to the sink and use some Fast Orange w/ pumice to finish the job (As above said, don't use any water until you rinse.).

The new Go-Joe bottles come with a nail brush on the side. that thing is GREAT. I scrub my whole hand and my nails with that and it works. it is a little aggressive the first few times you do it, but pull your skirt up, grab your balls, and you're clean!

I use lava soap, or go-jo, gas is too pricey these days to be using it to wash my hands, as well as fill the car/quad/lawnmowers/ect.

dish washin soap is what i use lol.....or wd-40 on tuff stuff

greaseball

i use GOOP but the trick is to get rid of those ridges in your skin, so take 240 grit sandpaper and buff your hands smooth the grease comes of with anything then keeps the hands smooth women love it

The regular gojo hand cleaner seems to work a little better than gojo orange, although the gojo orange comes with that little scrubber brush.

One key, like bwamos mentioned, is to do some preventative work to keep the dirt from sticking to pores and such. Me, I just make sure that I DON'T wash my hands before I begin work. If you degrease your hands before you even begin, you're asking for trouble.

I just use regular Gojo, NO WATER, and a scrub brush. I only use water at the end, when everything is already loosened up. Sometimes you gotta scrub really hard, and it hurts a little, but you either deal with the pain or deal with the ridicule. I have a special brush for my fingernails, hurts like heck, but get's them clean.

Something else I failed to mention, because I always forget to do it anyways.

Take a little dab of normal dish soap, and rub it into your hands like lotion. Use to much and your'll get the suds affect like normal, so go easy on it. Do this before you work, then when your done, the grease comes right off.

I need to remember to do that, i'm always in to big of a hurry.

Lava bar soap :blah:

05-19-2006, 06:04 AM
wd40 will just oil your hands back up, I used to use gojo and that orange cleaner chit but now i just use gas, works best for me
