2006 GNCC "Showtime!" Round #6 - Morning Race Coverage

The first ever Showtime GNCC was going to be one to remeber with the steep hills, mud and Rocks. The coure was going to be a challange for all the riders. Couse conditions would definitely play into the out come of the race.

Traci Cecco battled Jennifer Fulkerson and Stephanie Parton as she grabbed the holeshot.

[WOOLIN]

The start was dusty but it didn't take long for the rain to start coming down and turn the track in tto a mess. Traci had the lead as they headed to the woods but Stephanie, Jennifer, and Angel were hot on her heels.

Angel and Traci battled back and forth for the lead on the first 2 laps.

[WOOLIN]

Lexie Coulter was holding on to the 3rd spot.

[WOOLIN]

Stephanie Parton had dropped bak to 7th place by the end of lap 1. She was going to really have to put her head if she was going to catch the front runners. She tried to make the pass on Stephanie Verkade to take over 6th.

Kim Muzzarelli was runing in 4th by the end of the second lap. She is having a great year for her first full season of GNCC racing.

[WOOLIN]

Karie Brafford is also in her first full season of racing she rounded out the top 10.

[WOOLIN]

Jennifer Fulkerson has had some bad luck after her 2 podiums earlier in the season. She was running 2nd by the end of lap 1 but had problems again and fell back to finish 11th.

Dusty Kostman had some troubles on the first lap that hurt her finish for the day she finished 12th.

[WOOLIN]

Kim Muzzarelli had moved up to 4th but would fall back to finish 5th.

[WOOLIN]

Stephanie Parton fought her way past Stephanie Vekade and Kim Muzzarelli to take home 4th. She seems to be having trouble finding the speed on her Outlaw this season.

Traci was passed by Lexie Coulter on the last lap nd she would have to settle for a 3rd place finish 9th overall.

[WOOLIN]

Lexie had her best finish of the year as she went on to finish 2nd in the class and 7th overall.

[WOOLIN]

Angel Atwell would collect her 2nd win of the season and pull within 4 points of Traci for the championship. But no podium for the girls this week.

John Gallagher would take the win and 6th place overall followed by Richard Martin and George Richards.

[WOOLIN]

Richard Burleson took the win on his Yamaha with Gerald Mattschl and Tracy Kofstard takind 2nd and 3rd.

The Bom Squad was ready to go with their new Can Am banners and a slop hole for their pits.

[WOOLIN]

Michael Swift was sporting his new Can Am gear as the utes got ready to start.

[WOOLIN]

Mike Penland was ready to go in his new duds too.

[WOOLIN]

The battle for the championship is really close in the utility stock class this year. Ken Robey is currently 4th in the points hoping to increase his chances for a championship with a win today.

Ken Robey gets the hole shot as they roar into the hills of MO.

Michael Swift was running up front most of the morning as he lead the first 2 laps.

[WOOLIN]

Ken Robey was right behind him in 2nd.

[WOOLIN]

Chad hill rounded out the top 3 as they finished lap #1.

[WOOLIN]

Mike Penland slipped back to 5th behind Kevin Trantham after battling up front early.

[WOOLIN]

Ken Robey had some problems and wasn't able to complete lap 3. Which dropped him back to finish in 11th place.

[WOOLIN]

Mike Chirdon fought his way up to 8th place after a tough first lap.

[WOOLIN]

Mike Penland took advantage of Ken's misfortune to finish in the 4th spot.

[WOOLIN]

Kevin moved up from 5th to 3rd on lap 3 and that is where he finished.

[WOOLIN]

Chad Hill made the pass on Swift so he was going to have to settle for second place.

[WOOLIN]

Chad hill went on to take the win in the class.

[WOOLIN]

Congratulations to chad for his 3rd place overall finish!

Brock Parker has 4 wins so far this season but his 2 DNF's have hurt him in the points. But I'm sure after throw aways he will be sitting pretty.

Cliffton Beasley who is 2nd in the points gets the holeshot as the rest of the pack follows right behind him.

[WOOLIN]

Brock Parker jumped out to a early 1 minute lead by the end of the first lap. He was quickly making up ground on the rest of the classes that started in front of him.

[WOOLIN]

Cliffton had a slim lead over 3rd place Kilby as they came through after 1 lap.

[WOOLIN]

Kilby was making up ground on Beasley and would take over 2nd place as the 2 made their way through the other classes moving up in the overall.

[WOOLIN]

Chad Busha was trying to catch David Reese running in the 4th spot.

[WOOLIN]

Jason White held on to 6th from start to finish.

[WOOLIN]

Kilby was battling back and forth with Beasley a race long. Beasley got back around him on the 3rd lap.

[WOOLIN]

Once Beasley made the pass for 2nd on Kilby in lap 3 he wasn't going to give it up.

[WOOLIN]

Brock Parker was running it up on the rest of the morning classes as well a 3 minute lead over Beasley. It was looking good for him to take the overall in the morning.

When it was all said and done Brock had won the morning overall by 3 minutes.

[WOOLIN]

Scott Kilby just missed the all utility podium by 15 seconds. A great 4th place overall for Scott and 3rd in the class.

Cliffton Beasly took home the 2nd place overall trophy. This was the first race this year that had none of the women's class racers on the podium.

Kevin Johnston grabbed the holeshot.

Kevin held the lead until problems on lap 2 dropped him back to 4th place.

[WOOLIN]

Ty Blair was running 2nd in till he too had problems that dropped him all the way back to 10th.

Michael Shelley made his way up from 5th place to take the win followed by Jonathan Bowers in 2nd and Kevin Johnston in 3rd.

Robert Obrick made his way up from 8th to finish 4th.

[WOOLIN]

John Ribley rounded out the top 5.
