stock 05 400ex suspension

i noticed an earlier post that advised using 450ex front suspension as a cheap alternative to stock suspension on the 04 400ex's.....is that also true for the 05's?
Also, has anyone messed around with the suspension settings on the factory suspension? Was there a performance level difference if it was switched to a stiffer setting?

The stockers on the ex suck. You'll never get them to perform better. Yes the 450r Shocks will bolt onto the 05 with alittle grinding. It's a great adjustable shock for a low level trail rider. But if you're doing anything more find some used aftermarket shocks.
