Im interested in drilling out the rivits where the warning plates are in the fenders and replacing them with something different. First of all has anyone here done that? If so does anyone make replacements for them that you know of? I was thinking about replacing them with diamond plating but im worried adout a glare from the sun. Let me know if you have any ideas. Pics would be helpful if you have any. This is on an 05 400EX in red...thanks

I saw some pieces of flat polished stainless on sale on ebay a while back that was apparently milled to fit a 400ex. I'm not sure about the sun glare though, that's a good question.

I found that ad and emailed them because they offer them for other bikes in diamond plate. Thanks for the lead. If anyone has these and can tell me if they have a glare problm please let me know. Out here in AZ there aren't many days when the sun doesn't come up!!

I agree. I found this site and they aren't really that expensive. Its a heck of alot easier than making them myself like I had originally planned. Thanks to everyone for the help again...

Diddo for me, I like the plain look. The flat stainless looks OK, but the diamond plate just looks really gay

Well I got the diamond plated covers in and installed them today. Im very happy with the way they look. I ride with a guy that has the smooth ones and the glare has never bothered me. Thanks for everyones input..
