well i have to say is i'm never buying a lifted truck again. i rolled my jimmy because the bead on the rim came undone and i lost control. god had to have been watchin be because i rolled 7 or 8 times and didn't even get a scratch on me! and if the truck wasn't lifted they said i wouldn't have rolled so i guess the next vehicle i get will be lowered if anything. i'll post pics of the wreck later.

I bet even if you truck wasn't lifted it would still have rolled, just the way you went into that field. It has been a crazy afternoon.

It makes you sick to your stomach when you are driving down the road and see your best friends truck laying on its side in a field...

well here's wat happend. i was goin about 55 down a dirt road. and i swirved a little bit to miss some debri in the road and then the front left tire came off the bead it jerked off to the left and i slammed on the brakes instinctively and i turned the opposite way and then it started to roll that way so i turne the opposite way again and it rolled over 7 times.:eek2: then when the cops were on their way out a cop got into a collision less than a quarter mile a way from me and less than 10 min after my wreck!

That was the crazy part the cop was less than 1/4 mile away from you comin to your wreck and THE COP ran a stopsighn and t-boned another truck. There were 3 cop trucks, 2 state troopers, an ambulance, and like 2 or 3 fire trucks there.

Damn dude .... glad you're OK though . Vehicles can be fixed or replaced , but ain't nothing bringing you back when you're dead .

Lifted trucks are nice and all , but once you have to crank the wheels hard and the body and suspension start to roll , ain't nothing really that you can do except hold on for one hell of a ride .

Damn dude, that sucks,

I'm debating whether to lift this baby 9 inches closer to the sky with 37's! Its either that or by a laptop and put the rest of the money towards paying my truck off. this is graduation money btw

Not yet, I have loud exhaust (http://putfile.com/shiftfmx/media), tinted windows, a jager sticker and have never been givin any trouble yet, the lift might bring a little more attention thought. :eek2:

That sux but I dont see what your truck being lifted really has to do with rolling a bead.

05-17-2006, 11:00 AM
rolling a bead on a tire is just dumb luck , the lift had nothing to do with that. could have been poor choice in tire/wheel combo causing that to happen. Lifted trucks require you to be more carefull than a stock or lowered truck, but i would not stop driving them for anything.

Ya sounds like too low tire pressure, high speed, and a cruddy road is to blame for your rolled bead not a lift on your truck.

Keep it conservative and there shouldn't be any problems

6 inch lift with 36 mickey's

Damn you Dan, thats two trucks I want now :grr:

All kidding aside, theres a guy here with a dodge cummins with a 9inch lift and 37 inch tires and he drives it likes hes in a ferriari, I honestly dont think it sees under 65 even on backroads haha its awesome

Ya that is bad luck, but i agree the lift didn't cause the bead to pop off, but it will give the truck a higher center of gravity making it easier to roll.

the crazy thing is i was goin 55 maybe 60 mph at the most. the cops even said that if i was driving over that speed i probably would have gotten thrown from the vehicle because the type of seat belt i have in there doesn't lock itself when tension is pulled on it in a sudden way. they said i probably had a rock get inbetween my beed and wheel or sumthin.

Thats flat out LUCK u didnt get hurt! Be thankful, most ppl arent that lucky. Sorry about ur truck though.

maybe now the DOT will approve some beadlocks for the road:p

a lifted truck would have to do with rolling the bead, but it would make it more top heavey. A lower truck might not of flipped after rollin the bead

Load it up to http://www.imagestation.com/ . It is really easy to use. You have to register, but after you load it up on the site it automatically resizes the picture, then put the resized pic back onto your computer and load it up here. Thats what I have started using.

Beadlocks arent street legal in most states... they could look like beadlocks but not be beadlocks aswell.. that roll over isnt so bad.. good ol GM products holding up well.. but ive seen people live through wrecks where there car is smashed on all sides , a few step out with just a few scratches. sometimes it just depends on how lucky you get. just a few weeks ago a friend of mine was driving a Grand Prix and got hit by a semi coming off of a gravel road and was killed. keep the rubber down fellas (if you can) :p

He's probably got "simulated" beadlocks. ;)
