top 10 maintenance problems

I just recently bought a '01 400 ex and i'm still alittle new with maintenance. so i just wanted to know what the main problems are to look out for.

1.back bearrings

be sure to check and grease the swing arm pivot bolt

carrier bearings. i have repleced them twice in 4 years, every thing else is bulletproof if you clean your quad after every ride and keep the oil changed regularly.

Yeh, pretty much anything on the rear end. The swingarm bolt mainly. It likes to sieze up really easy. Make sure you greas it regularly. Also the axle bearings tend to go out pretty quick along with the carrier from my experience.

Ya, def. the swingarm bolt... I'm stripping mine down and can't get that sucker out even with air tools! Were going to have to try heating it up I suppose, but just be sure to grease it up.

stripped down mine to powder coat the frame and i had to use a hydraulic press to get the bolt out. those sieze up bad
