how do you like the honda compared to your old YFZ?

I have a question for you XC guys. When you guys change your rear shock and linkage what are you using to keep the new shock linkage from getting busted up. I know you could probably shim the skid plate but then you are loosing ground clearance.

Those billet links are pretty indestructable.

its great, I'm an old school honda R guy..........but the YFZ was pretty bad ***........... Honda frt. works so much better, steers and tracks perfectly.......the YFZ rear end (Axis and Gibson on the rear) was far better than what I have now... But i'm working with what I got to make it better.......

I used my stock skid plate for now, I'm not into lowering the skid to cover the link!!! thats way too low!! I just used the stock skid and cut it out to clear the link........the link looks ugly and takes a beating, but thereS really no other way....

Phase 1 - Collect Underpants
Phase 2 - ???..........
Phase 3 - Profit

Nice quad, man. What did you do to prep the tank prior to installing those?

R looks sweet JL.

I use the GT Thunder linkage, and NO swingarm skidplate. I run the sprocket guard (disc) Laz sells and a small skid underneath the brake rotor that Rowlrag (Vet class racer and Borich's mechanic) makes. Its held up great so far after 5 GNCC's and a butt-load of hard rides.

Yeah, i'm thinkin about gettin one of those sprocket guards

05-17-2006, 02:53 PM
i run an AC skid plate and cut the linkage box out of it, the GT Thunder linkage has tooken tons of blows, and its perfectly fine

i have a question, why did you take your stickers off your elkas?

If it can withstand the Wisp, then I'll be sold on the idea.

How does the link fair though not being covered? I know I slam my skid pretty often where it covers my link....:ermm:

I have 3 questions for ya...

1. Does your works connection clutch lever clear the start/stop black box?
2. And where did you get it....or who has the best price on them?
3. Did you just wire the 2 clutch safety wires together to get it to start in gear?

cause I can't stand the stock perch,
