i am looking for something other than riding boots. regular mx boots are way too stiff for me, feels like i should have skis on them. is there an alternative that is accepted at tracks? or even for rec riding thats more comfortable than mx boots?

At tracks around me, they aren't really strict about that. Just have to have boots that cover your ankles...

i forget who it is, but they're called 3/4 boots or something. the top's cut off of a reg. MX boot.

If I wasnt wearing boots in my last crash I would be sitting here with pins and screws in my ankle right now. Trust me, after about 5 rides they fit like tennis shoes

My boots.... Bought em from gander mtn. for about $60, and they came in black or camo... They work great, and are even water proof! Also they shift real easy, and are real flexible.

they would probally let u race with them...i only rode with them one time and that was in the snow and IMO the soles are to soft for my style of riding (mx)...but i wore them for riding my crf50 pitbike one time and they felt okay on that

I like those new Tech 10's, but they are a little too rich for me. I think I saw them at $370 or something at my local MX shop.

Nothing is a alternative to boots, I was riding my banshee in my adios hitting my jumps and I went to try a double I found and landed crooked and all my weight and force went onto my one foot, I couldnt walk for 2-3 days..

I wear my boots EVERY time now.. :o

you should also check out the AXO slammer, it doesnt go as high up on the leg as regular boots. they cost like $120. and they are mostly made for pitbikes but they still work

I agree...personally, I would only wear a quality boot. I cased the double at Breezewood right after the 60' uphill jump a few weeks ago. I got bucked off my pegs and when I came down my foot was widged between the nerf and rear tire. It would have been a disaster without the AlpineStars Tech 4 boots I had on. I wish AlpineStar would put the ATV tread on the Tech 6 or Tech 8 boots. Anyhow, I had to come to a complete stop before I could slide my boot out.
