problem need help before penton

were having a problem with an 05 450r the other night we were riding and were putin down a path and themn the bike just shut of like you pulled the kill cord. we checked all the obvious key kill switch tether switch conections and still no spark at the plug but if we turn on the light and kick it over the light lights up so there is juice some where do you think it could be the coil under the gas tank or what. please any help

do u have access to another bike? swap the coil first (under the tank).. then swap the CDI (under the hood)..... is the plug shot?

we found out it was the stator
because we did both of those things then found out how to check the stator and it was that so wre gettin one friday and puttin it on at the track

how exactly did you test the stator? I need to know.
