need an engine

i just recently bought a honda four wheeler frame i was told it was a 250R the kid that had it before me sent a rod through the piston so now i need to find an engine i'm not sure what year it is for sure can some one help me out???

Post a pic of the frame. All year 250r engines are the same on the outside, so you can use any 250r motor, 85-89 in your frame. How bad is the damage to the motor you have in there now? Did you buy the whole quad or just the frame, I might be interested in that motor.
