getting a 06 450er

well i just put a down payment on a 06 450r e-start.
i'm coming off a 400ex. hope i'm making the right choice. i mostly trail ride and do the dunes at little sahara. it was a tuff decision between the yamaha and honda. but anyway i should be picking up the new quad this week.

What mods did your 400ex have ?
Im sure you will be on here posting about how glad you are that
you made the change. The 400ex's are solid but the 450r is a big
step upwards.

I made the switch from my 440 to my 450 in March. The 450 is a great quad. There is no compairson between the two...the 450 is far above and beyond the 440 in every way!! Good luck!

I just made the same switch, traded in my 2 month old 05 400ex for a new black kick 05 450r.

Lost my *** on the trade in for the condition my 400 was in (like new) but I got $1300 off the 450r for buying an 05, a bunch of parts at 25% off and an HRC kit installed for free.

I made the switch because soon after I got my 400 my 2 neigbors got a 450r and a yfz 450. After I rode those a few times I relized my 400 just wasnt cutting it :P

Should be picking it up on wednesday, so I'm in the same boat as you =)

look, i came from a 330r and wasn;t too sure i would be pleased with the 450's power and speed. I WAS WRONG!!! the '06 is amazing. you'll love it, especially the magic button.

Looks like I'm joing the bandwagon also.

Went to the dunes a few weeks ago with my bro, who has an '05 450R, and the EX just doesn't cut it anymore. So, I'm looking to get an '06 450R this weekend if all works out well. I'd prefer to get the kicker, but I can't seem to find any around this area.

I was very impressed with my bro's 450, so I'm anxious to see what the '06 is like.

For you guys looking for a new quad - if you haven't seen it, look into the LT-R 450. Especially for the dunes - it's a real nice ride.
