i'm going to get some front shocks for 400ex soon (month or so)i'm looking at spending no more than $600.i want something for MX ,i'm a novice (just small doubles,if that) so what would be a decent shock .i would love to get some elka triples w/ssd ,but i don't think 600 will cover them.

they don't have rezzys on them...

save another 130$ and u can buy a set of elka shocks... i'd wait the extra month or so and get the better shock its worth it over the works triple rates i think bc of the ssd, fatter shafts, and better valving....

if u have to buy elka economy shocks for now they are 450$ then add rezzys later for 250$ with comp adjustable

If you want Zero Preload you will have to get Elka`s with SSD or the PEP ZPS. The PEP Race are not Zero Preload. I would get a set of Elka`s like me and 400ex21 have. Call Full Throttle MX, the Quadshop, or C&D Racing and they will hook you up for around $730 or so.

YES, ALL PEP SHOCKS HAVE RESSYS........
I HAD SOME STANDARD RACE PEPS AND THEY WERE GREAT

Just dont save money and buy cheaper ones! Spend all you want on shocks! Sometime you could regret tryin to save $150 on cheaper ones!

Suspension is the most important thing so I would not Cheap out.

yup you can only go as fast as your tires and suspension will let you and good suspension will let you keep your momentem up and your tires tracking, landings easier not to mention lower center of gravity and also when it sits lower the front a-arms are in the wider part of the travel. I would recommend elkas from c&d racing or quadshop.

if you are unable to get that extra 300$ for the elkas or peps i think that works have good shocks but are not as top quitly as the elkas or pep but they are way way better than stock i am going a lot faster a round ruted whooped up tracks than i was with stockers defintly worth the money( i didn't have enough for elkas at the time and couldn't get anymore $$) now the only problem is that my back shocks is starting to suck compared to the front, the back end is bouncing around every where in the whoops and doesn't have the same smooth ride as the front, so now i am going to get the elka rear rebuild to see how it goes..
good luck

I'm just making sure you can still post pics on this new forum..but anyway, i have triple rate, compression adjust elkas. Its seems like you went from like a old peice of junk car to a cadilac. they soak up most everything and corner well...i highly reccommend them
