ok guys... right now im on a 270pv with a cr250 ignition setup... i cna run with the production guys now... but its hard... i dont wanna dump the 250 for a production.. cuz i got everything i need in the 250r chassis.... question is... will a 340pv with the cr250 ignition be a wise choice? or is it goona be too much for the bottom end to handle?

I would go with a smaller big bore top end. Maybe a 310. Then you won't have to spend the extra money to tear apart the bottom end to get the cases machined to accept the bigger bore.

yea... but i already got a 270pv... and i jsut want more... im already goona tear it apart to put in a new crank and bearings... so why not do it all?

do a 330 they seem to rev out more then the 350 pv's and are easier on the crank, but if your in woods and ride a 270 then any big bore will help, i really dont htink youll feel much difference with the 310 though.

for you i woudl say 330PV or higher, up to you.

but my question is... the big bore with the cr250 ignition setup.. will that cause more problems, than with stock flywheel and stuff

no its better and youll have more power but no lights, maybe try it on your 270 before you go into a big bore?

i already got her on the 270, and love it.. i just didnt know if there was drawbacks with using it on a bigger bore motor.

I'm glad to hear you are sticking with the R in A class. I run A in district 7 MX and I'm like the last one on an R. Everyone lookes at me like I'm nuts, but I don't care, nothing handles or fells like a full Laeger's R. I'm never switching over, like you said way too much money invested with 0 resale value now.

what do you gain with the cr250 ignition setup?

When I put mine on from esr, it seemed to start easier and seemed to rev slightly quicker and rev out higher helped me alot I think....

If the quad is for mx, defineity keep the cr ignition. It will just make a big bore motor rev faster, and thats what you want in MX. If it was for a XC quad I would say no, it makes the quad easier to stall and the powerband more like a light switch, which is a pain the *** in the woods.

the cr flywheel is like half the size of the trx.... and u get the whole electrical setup off a 2001? cr250.. so u get updated timing curves and everything off a cr.... and it revs alot quicker. well worth the 500 bucks IMO downside is.... no lights
