JE Period. I don`t think many Guys on here run anything but JE and I will be getting one also. Most of the Engine Builders use them too.

Ross pistons are generally lighter and have more wrist pin options available.

From what I understand, the guy that designed the JE piston everyone is familiar with is now working for Ross.

Does Ross make a 416 Piston?

I still say go with je, its proven and i don't know if i would try to save 40 bucks on a cheaper piston to risk 600 dollars or more in damage to the motor when something happens.

Wiseco, for me it is race proven time and again and they support the Sport

I have rode a 400ex with a wieco and one with a JE! The je felt like it had a little more power

yes but that could be lots of things for instance other mods, jetting was better for the conditions, way it was broke in, air box lid, throttle cable tons of stuff you can't even see like cam, compression ratio. I also don't see how it could make more power either if it was the piston unless he was running a higher compression piston or weight.

I agree he could of been running a higher Compression with Race Gas. If the Compression, Gas, Jetting, and Pipe were all the same and one was faster then maybe it was the Piston. There is many things that could be different even the Cam.

They were both stock...besides the pistons...(stock bore)...and WB pipes..and the same jetting

Well then you have something there. I would get a JE.

JE had problems when they first came out (they accedentially screwed a friend of my very trusted friend who has been a mechanic and motor builder for 12 years). I cant remember what it was, but I believe it was casting flaws and they have fixed it.

Wiseco is pretty good in my opinion, there light and kinda reliable.

Pro-X though is by far the most reliable (same people who make HONDA pistons!). They may have a very slight less power than the wiseco or JE (less compression), but I think its definatley worth the small performance loss.
