View Full Version : Reserecting The 400ex

My 2001 400ex has been sitting in my garage for 3 years now broken down, I have had no money to fix it until now, and i cant wait till its done. It went from broken down and stock to 440 sleeve and piston, ported head, DMC alien full exhaust, jetted carb, k&n, new valves, nerf bars, and front bumper. The heads at machine shop now. Can't wait to get it going next weekend. Might make trip to silver lake MI. Just thought I would share that for my first post here.

Thats awesome man, post some pictures of it sometime. You will love the 440 power! :)

That is awesome get some pics. Glad you are back in the sport and getting another 400ex out there.

I am new here too I just found this fourm last night. Kewl place for info. I too have a 400 ex 2001. I have a 2004 as well. I had my whole machine redone engine wise too. I had it bored 2 over to give it a little extra whomp lol. I noticed my rear axle barrings are now shot though:grr:
I found some usefull tips here last night that determined me to get the carrier out so I can get these barrings replaced. Hope you never have to do it personaly it's a pain in the ***. I noticed your from Michigan. I am from Wisconsin but I like riding in Michigan too, are you fimilair with the cedar river trails at all?

Never heard of them by name, doesnt mean I havent ridden there though. I do most of my riding at Silver lake sand dunes, Rose City area(Miles and miles of state trails) Property I have in Waters, MI. And the Mounds scramble area in Flint Area.
