down grade....alot of people under estimate the LT...some LTs are very fast....i dont know what was done to urs but a nice Lt would walk over any new quad today

Depends on the riding conditions. But even where it favors the 400ex the most.. it would be a minimal improvment.

I wouldn't upgrade to anything less than a 450. And the 450's vs. a lt250r w/ decent suspension, is going to be a very very close battle.

I like hondas!....i dont reall know about the 250r but the trx 250r with suspension pretty much beats a modded out 400ex with everything anywhere....but 400ex's are very fun, reliable, and upgradeable....not so much a downgrade but if the 400 your getting is stock your going to feel sad until you upgrade it a bit

if funny how people underestimate the Lts...they flew! I would put my buddys LT up agenst any new 450 in a drag

downgrade in terms of plain black-and-white straight-line performance- a LT 250r will walk a EX.

however, the LT's suspension and frame sucks, so overall, it is an upgrade.

i rerally dont no alot about the lt but the trx 250r's will walk alover the 400ex any day. but the 400 would be more dependable that the lt and wont have to be rebiult every year like the lt.

suspension can go either way with afertmarket and frames dont mean a whole lot to the average everyday rider...if oyu are seriosuly racing it then the frame might matter but for 90% of the people out there stock frames work just fine

My lt was .60 over port and polished and every other thing you can do to them... i just want a more reliable quad.. besides 4 stroke seem to grab better in woods and dirt but my LT did rip.

i meant the frames BREAKING. suzuki is infamous for weak and poorly designed frames. a friend of mine went through 3 frames on a worked LT250R.......before he started racing.

I have both and it's deffinately an upgrade. The LT hits really hard but the EX's torque is more fun to ride with.

He hit the nail on the head. Stole the words outta my mind.
The LT and the 400EX are both good quads. I prefer a four stroke or I would have a 250r.

if u know how to ride the 250r u can kill a 400ex on any track or even in the woods all comes down to the rider...my friend has a 250r honda and my buddys 660 raptor thats worked over can just keep up with his 250 in a drag race and the 250r eats him away in the woods....both riders have 10+ years under there belt so there no rookies,,,,but i look at it this way it's all in what U like and how it feels to u....me...i still run a worked over 250X lol
and i can keep up with anyone no problem...

250r is better, personally i think its just an all around better quad. I have a 440 right now and I'm planning on building a 250r or a hybrid next year..
