oil drain plug help

I was taking out the drain plug and the bolt didnt come out but the thing where the bolt screws into came out. Im assuming i prob need a new pan now but before i rip into it is there anything i should watch out for? Here are some pics of what came out.

well i cant get the pic to upload. but the pice that came out has threads like it screwed up into something in the oil pan, maybe the pump i dont know. hopefully you all know what im talking about.
