ive noticed that the dynojet kit unlike some other kits comes with a new needle to install. does anybody have any idea why this is and what benefits u gain?

The needle in the dynojet kit has a different taper on it and also a sixth slot for the eclip. stock needle only has 5. I think it's designed to work with the dynojet adapter and jet. I would definitely reccomend installing it.

... My 05 400 Ex came out with a SINGLE slot on the needle ...

so I have definitely installed the Dyno jet needle .

must also add , that , straight out of the box - the kit works well . i have yet to check the a/f setting , but I took it out the weekend , and with a new pipe and jetted , it pulled nice and cleanly until it ran out of the powerband . all i did was follow the instructions . Not too shabby . I am a bit of a doubting thomas as far as "wonder mods " go , but at least you can toy now a bit with the carbs fuel setting when you stick in the dynojet needle , and it does have a slightly different taper to it .
