Well, i looked around for a little bit for a used one that i liked, but didn't find any. The new ones that actually look decent are just so expensive. I couldn't justify buying a new one for that kind of price, so i made one for free:D

I think it turned out alright....Let me know what you guys think.
It took about 4 hours. It's mostly 1/2 inch hex stock and 1/4 inch flat.

those welds look like duck sh1t, grind em down.

good work tho, fabricating pieces is fun.

Here it is next to the old one. I didn't like how the old one tilted down when it was on the bike. It's still bare metal, but it will be getting rhino lined here soon....should look pretty cool and be fairly durable.

I kinda rushed it, but from about 10 feet away you can't even tell....I didn't want to spend the extra time since, when i get it coated, it will be close to impossible to even see them as long as you're not 2 feet away.

Nice job man, it looks really good, what kinda welder did you use? Grind down those welds though, it doesnt take long and makes a huge difference.

i used a miller mig welder.....the first one i used ran out of gas though, so a few of the welds got kind of bubbly and i had to go back over them and they got bigger.

That actually crossed my mind, but since the bumper is so wide and since i dont have any cross braces on the part that bolts to the frame, i figured that unless i hit something head on, it would have enough force to bend the braces.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Wow, that actully looks really really good on the quad. Usually homemade bumpers look like crap but that one is sexy.

cool man. its cool when you can build your own stuff compared to forkin' over cash for someone else to build it.

i took 2 years of welding classes (to get certified) and it was the best learning experience. you learn how to make anything. i used to make stuff for my quad all the time - mount for crf rear calipar on my 250r, bumpers, skids, even aluminum houver crafts out of 1/2 square alum

cool stuff

i figured it would look like chit because i have seen so many home made bumpers come out like crap its not even worth counting but this one actually came out pretty good

For being homemade I give it a thumbs up.

Good job, looks crazy. :D

It flows so good with the quad, If I had a 250R I'd buy one from you.

Yeah, i actually was really surprised with how it looks on the quad. I was just in the shop and pretty much wingin' it just based on what i thought would look cool....

I'm gonna grind the welds down and do some touch up on it.....then.....can anybody make a good guess how much it would cost to chrome it? Maybe josh can weigh in on this since he suggested it first......:)
