I have been looking into getting Shocks for my 400Ex. I have been racing Mx for my first year and now i relize that i need some shocks. I have been thinking about getting some Works TPR with Rezzies but i have heard alot of bad things about them. I also was thinkin about getting the Works Pro Series Piggy Backs. They are about 700 bucks.

I could get those or i could get Pep Limited Mass.

So what shocks would everyone recommend for me. I am looking to spend about 700 or so on them.

Any suggetions?

I just got some works shocks from the quadshop and they are alot better then the stockers, you can jump way bigger with them. Maybe ride some buddies quads that have a-market suspension and see what you think.

I agree with 400ex21. Go with the Elka`s. You will get them a lot faster then PEP`s or Axis. Also save you some Money. You should be really happy with them they are more then enough.

I agree tcs, elka, pep, axis are all great shocks and I think elka triple rate fronts with rezzies is all a person could ask for. Me I kinda wish I didn't get the elka rebuild and bought a rear shock instead but it is much better than stock and the only time I really think wish I would of got the duel elka rear w/ rezzie is when i'm flying through the whoops or flat land a jump because rear is always first to bottem out and soaks up everything the worst. You won't regret getting high dollar shocks they are about the best things you can get for a quad. I would not get the works pro series and only works triple rates w/ rezzie if you are really on a budget.

Tcs is making a really good product right now and has been for many years. They have one of if not the best rebuild for the rear on a 400ex and there fronts are right there in price line of elka about 850$ little bit more but worth it, there rear shock sets them apart because they take your shock body and have it Hard Anodized this process makes the metal stronger and therefore wears less and in the end the shock stacks will have less blow by as the shock works, once a 400ex rear shock has reached that point to where the body is worn and wont seal then its no good.
If i was in to buying shocks right now i would buy some TCS and have them rebuild the rear 450$ there so for 1300$ you can have a kick but set of shocks all with ssd and everything give them a call i feel like there a honest company they seem to have a good following that has very good things to say about them and there service.

First off I would never spend $700 on works shocks.

If your gonna spend $700 get elkas<< much better shock.

I got axis and I dont regret spending the cash on them either.

Beleive you wont regrte buying high dollar shocks its worth every dollar.

Blackguyona400 is right about the TCS Shocks. I think they seem to be more for MX I don`t see many XC Guys running those Shocks. I got the Elka`s because I feel they will be right there will PEP and Axis because they keep making new things and have great Service. My cousin had the old TCS Shocks on his 250r and had nothing but problems and hated them. PEP also is doing some great things to the 400 rear shock. They Hard Anodized the Shock also. I was gonna get PEP but the wait is just to long. I don`t think they are that much better to wait. Axis I`m not sure they are top notch but are they worth $300+ more then the PEP ZPS? They also have a wait. I think TCS and Elka are right in the middle in Price and PEP and Axis are way up there. If you get Elka, TCS, PEP, or Axis you will be very Happy.

If you race MX....almost any "name brand" will be good besides works
