I got an 04 450r fairly stock. Full Sparks X-6 exhuast, K&N pro flo kit and its all jetted. Within a couple weeks i want to do a top end job, and possible cam mod, but have no clue what to do. I race Open and 4 stroke class so i want to stay at 450cc's. I'm not sure what compression to go for. 11:1, 12:2 or even 13:1. Running race fuel isnt a big deal, i just want reliability as well having a race every other weekend till october so one or 2 rebuilds the most is all i want. Any advice or things to stay away from?...i just want some type of mods to get a lil more power outta the hole to get a jump on the 06s.

I would do a cam first. I think that'll give you the most bang for your buck. The higher compression piston you run will equal more torque with maybe slightly less max RPM. This also puts more stress on your motor though. Porting is another option you may want to consider.

I'll take a wild guess that it comes with a stage 2 hot cam a 13.1 wiseco piston and a gasket
