ive been looking into getting a new rear shock but idont know what i want. i know i dont want a revalve. i race mx. i saw an ad in a magazine advertising the new axis titanium shock for 1325, which is pricey but if its a good shock i can save up. i was also lookin at the elka rear shock. i know i should probaly get a new rear linkage but i dont want to buy something that is going to make my frame drag on the ground on landings. what do u guys suggest i get for mx racing?

I race MX, and I run an Axis single rate rear shock with a GT Thunder Linkage, works awesome. I have the titanium piggyback fronts as well. The titanium is not necessary but does look pretty sweet ;)

I have a axis rear comp & rebound adjust w/ gt thunder mx link I need to get rid of if your interested. 1 race on it. 210 lb. B rider setup. Purchase it from Laz about a month ago. Yes it does have a rebound adjuster. $900 shipped

Also have axis fronts off of gibson lt front end w/ gibson red billet clamps and quad tech cf guards. $1200 shipped. 3 races on them.

All like brand new.
All off 05 trx450.

Because for one it's a very expensive option and second you don't need titanium. The steel springs work fine.

I have the GT Thunder rebuild and MX linkage on my 05 and IMHO it rides nicer than my buddies 05 with elka long travel with the lonestar outlaw setup. Maybe his just isn't setup very good, I feel it rides nicer, he wont admit it though because of all the coin he's dropped on it, but 2 of my other buddies who are neutral on the situation agree with me.

The dual linkage long travel elka is my choice very forgiving .

I can't give much comparison but my PEP big bottle with Baldwin linkage works excellent.

I have the GTT linkage with stock revalve and I love it but I will soon be getting an axis single rate. Two of my friends run axis and they are nice. One has GTT linkage with single rate and the other has ars-fx dual rate LT and they are both nice setups:macho

you need link and shock for 06, i prefer Gt thunder revalve for bang for the buck,

I have been thinking about getting the gt thunder revalve/resprung/w rear linkage combo. I ride dunes and trails. IS this the combo i should go with??

If the stock travel is good enough for you than sure, everyone raves about the set up u describe but if you need more travel for sky high dune jumpin or mx I would think a long travel shock would be better.

Looking to go Elka LT with dual link

Have Elka Elite with single link.

Go with the dual rate and re-valve of your stocker and linkage, should be set. With my dual rate Elka the difference in smoothness was wonderful, ESPECIALLY when the sand gets choppy or trails are rutted.
