Right now I have an FMF fatty pipe. I am looking into selling it, and getting either a sparks TT or an LRD. Which one of those 2 would I be better off with for MX? Or is there some other sort of pipe I should look into?

I would stay with the FMF Fatty!!!!!!!!! but, if u really wana get a new one get a sparks TT, DO NOT get the LRD... those leak!!!:eek2:

I'm not worried about it leaking. That can be taken care of. I'm looking for the best MX pipe out there. I don't want it to cater to just 1 area though, I want all around awesome hard hitting power.

You might want to broaden your choices, because your not going to find a sparks TT

Give me a suggestion then. Like I said, I want as much all around power as I can possibly get.

Call Sparks and order a TT and an MX pipe, get the best of both worlds, MX low to mid and TT mid to topend. I just talk to Sparks a few days ago and they said they are going to do a run of 2 stroke pipes soon.

Well, I was leaning towards LRD adjustable, but noone really has anything good to say about them. I guess I should call Hetrick's and see what pipe they reccomend would match my port job the best.

well I have an lrd and it leaks around the adjustable area and gets oil all over the pipe, i'd stay away from it...just my thought

ESR TRX-5. its a good all around pipe. better then the FMF, thas what i had before it. the TRX-6 kills topend to much, the TRX-11 is a fun ride but wares u out pretty quick, theres a very short usuable powerband with it at the very top rpms.

CURTIS SPARKS!!! AHHHH!

I had the TRX 6 on my R and it doesn't have that much top end......but its a damn good low end pipe.....I would go with the TRX 5 or 6......Hetrick will just try to sell you their own pipe built by someone else.....there's looks about like an FMF of some sort.......stick with someone that is still building pipes for the 250R.....Like ESR......sorry I'm partial but when you had good luck with their products its hard not to

Yeah, I know its hard to not be partial. I am with Baldwins. He seems to be the only guy I can get an honest opinion off of. I might give that ESR pipe a try...

another thing about the lrd are that the adjustable pieces break off

if you dont have a radical port job on a stock jug R cylinder the TT pipe will be very mid to top friendly.

the sparks MX sounds like what you need, unless you have a really good port job or a 310 or higher big bore then i would say TT

i voted TT

i have both the mx and tt and there both insane pipes

i run the LRD adjustable... and it makes nice power up top.

about it leaking, i just used some "Threebond 1211"

its like $30 a tube, but it works perfectly.

i used it on the adjustable part, the pipe to silencer part connection, and both ends of the silencer. no leaks what-so-ever.

but otherwise, i'd get one of paul turner's pipes.
stay away from FMF.

Which Paul Turner pipe would you suggest?? I hear that they are the same, or very similar to sparks.

I love my paul Turner ''TRX RACE'' pipe, but I would like to try a sparks pipe if I could find one.

I would give bills pipes a try they make good power through out the entire powerband.

i tried many variations of pipes on a hyrbid build(mx setup) that i done last year and i've concluded that the best pipe is what ever that particular engine likes the best.

we tried esr5 and 6, fmf fatty and old knarly, a ct, a bills, a lrd, a sparks, and a paul turner and would you believe that the bills pulled harder for longer than the others. mind you that out of the box they all have thier advantages.
