alright buddy of mine just bought a 04 z-400 and hes having trouble, its bogging when he reves it high in the gears above 2nd...anyways i havent seen it yet to look it over, maybe hes just left the choke on or something but i wasnt sure if this problem occuring a lot on the z's?...any suggestions would be help ful....also what does the "pri" on the gas stand for?

Check aftermarket add ons like exhaust and air intake, if they have been changed, jetting may be off.

pri stands for prime--its a direct feed to the carb that bypasses the vacuum--i agree with wreckdiver-sounds like the jetting is off with any aftermarket add-ons

alright he just came over to my house, seems to be running good, dont know why it was bogging, it hadent been rnning for awhile apparently...thnaks for the quick replys....also when would you use the prime and why?

I believe you would use Prime if for some reason you arent getting enough gas through the carb. By the way if you have prime on you dont have reserve to save you if you run out of gas. I have a 450 carb and we havent fixed it so that I can run it on "on" so we have to run it on prime and I have ran out of gas a few times.
