Im going out to the dunes here in alberta in about a week and im going to run my mudlites on my 450R and i was wondering if it would be better to run them with less tire pressure or more tire pressure in the sand? anyone know which will be better the sand isn't to fine so i don't need paddle but i was wonder what would be best? and how bout the front tires there just stockers? high or low pressure?

To me its preference. Some people may want them aired up some may not. It also depends on what you are going to do in the dunes. If I was you and it was possible I would just bring an air tank with air so you can play around with the air pressure and get it how you want it!!

Hmm icic yea i know what you mean about preference for sure but i don't know that i will have the luxury of an air tank so i was kinda wondering what provides the overall best hook up?

well of course running them with less air gives better hook up... but that is not necessarily a good thing- you want to be able to spin the tires as well...

Yea to much hook up isn't always good but i wanna be able to do some hill climbs and stuff like that... and the problem with my mudlites is they have such a high sidewall that they don't always slide the best with lots of air in them make the bike pretty tippy!! but i was thinking like 3psi in the back and then for my stock fronts i was thinking it may be good for them to have more air like 5-6 psi?

You could try to but one of the cheap plug in the cig lighter air machine. But thats just if you have money to I think they are around $20 to $30. I wouldnt know what you should even close to run b/c I always have sand paddles. Sorry wish I could help more.

Well i will see i may actually have one buried in the garage somewhere... but thnx for your input for sure it all helps... if my buddy can't get his quad up and running i think i will just run his sandstars... but i hope his bike is ready to go...

I usually put in just enough to get good slip for a 2nd gear holeshot in the sand for me i ended up running 2.5psi in my sandstars, it gives me good hookup for wheelies and i can spin them a bit off the line.
