Ok so I posted a while ago to see how many people if any were running the 400ex axles in their 450s. A handful of people said it could be done, but only one person could provide me with a picture. Well I decided to give it a shot. I had a durablue x-33 from my 400 that I didn't want to give up, becaue my buddy spent a good deal of time machining custom billet hubs for it. I bought a RAD tapered bearing carrier from a member on here. Well I got the rear end completely disassembled..... then compared the two different carriers, knowing they would be a little different. The 400ex carrier is 1/8inch longer than the 450R. I think at this point it is possible to machine 1/8 off of the 400 carrier to make everything line up properly, which is no big deal for me, however.. the problem is in the brake stay. The mounting holes on the 400ex RAD brake stay are different. So I tried using the stock brake stay and the diameter of the carrier hole is smaller on the stock 450R one so no go.... So now I have a RAD tapered carrier with perfect bearings w/ a rad brake stay, and a durablue x-33 pin drive with custom billet hubs all for sale......

Hard to see but the RAD is 1/8 longer

So as of now this could possibly work if I have a custom brake stay machined, and get 1/8inch machined off the right hand side of the carrier(the brake stay side)... and then it might fit, but for now Im sick of making so many parts to make this work...:ermm:

Now I know there was at least one guy on here had a 400ex carrier and 400ex axle in his 450R and he posted a pic of it. I was wondering what setups everyone else was running if they're using the 400 parts. Thanks.
